Assam, located in north-eastern India, provides a diverse range of attractions for travellers to discover and enjoy at various seasons of the year. While the winter and summer seasons are great for visiting Assam, the monsoon season should be avoided. Because of its geographical location, Assam experiences heavy rains, which disrupts travel plans and sightseeing. Nonetheless, the weather in Assam is pleasant the remainder of the year, making for excellent nature tourism.

The temperature in Assam in Summer is between 320 Celcius to 380   Celcius and in Winter it goes down to 8Celsius.

Summer Season:

Unlike in much of India, summer in Assam is not oppressively hot or humid. It lasts less time and is even fresher. Temperatures typically range from 32°C to 38°C. When it gets too humid or hot, the showers come in handy. The best places to visit during the summer include Haflong, Guwahati, Kaziranga National Park, Majuli, Dibrugarh, Jorhat, and Tinsukia. One of Assam’s three Bihu festivities, Rongali or Bohag Bihu, may also be experienced. Their main celebration is Bihu.

Monsoon Season:

During the monsoon season, Assam experiences severe rains. The Brahmaputra frequently overflows and floods the areas along its banks as a result. During the monsoon season, landslides occur often in various regions of the states, which may be dangerous and problematic for travellers. Monsoon tourism in Assam is not advised.

Winter Season:

Winter is the finest season to visit Assam since it is cool but nice. Temperatures range from 8°C to 25°C, with some areas seeing temperatures as low as 6°C. Winter travel to Assam is a once-in-a-lifetime experience due to the pleasant weather and cultural extravaganza. Both the Kongali (also known as Kati Bihu) and the Bhogali (also known as Magh Bihu) festivals take place at this period. Learning about Assamese culture would be a wonderful experience.. In late April, one can be lucky enough to see orchids in Lakhimpur and Kaziranga National Orchid and Biodiversity Park. For those eager to get their pulse pumping, the winter months offer a wealth of adventurous activities.
