Double Decker Root Bridge

One of its most renowned wonders is Cherrapunji’s Double Decker Living Root Bridge. The famous Double Decker Living Root Bridge, nestled in the lush Meghalayan forests, enjoys rain for a significant portion of the year. One of Meghalaya’s most incredible partially man-built buildings, it was partly made by the Khasi tribe, who trained the roots to grow in a specific direction. Overlooking a raging river, the roots intertwine to create a dual canopy of bridges, one on top of the other. Root bridges, as opposed to timber bridges, develop stronger with age. From Tyrna village, the bridge is a 3-kilometer hike. The 20-meter-long top bridge is pretty intimidating, but it offers great benefits.

Dawki River

The Dawki River in Shillong, regarded as the wonder of the Northeast, is well-known for its enthralling beauty that surrounds the area and appears to be heaven for a nature lover. The river, known as Wah Umngot, flows through the Meghalayan town of Mawlynnong, Dawki, at the foot of the Jaintia Hills, and is quite close to the border between India and Bangladesh. Krang Suri Falls

One of the most well-known, stunning, and unusual waterfalls in the state of Meghalaya is Krang Suri. By Road: Shillong can be reached by bus from Guwahati. Numerous privately and publicly run deluxe and ordinary tourist trips are scheduled on a regular basis.
