How to Reach Meghalaya

By Road: Meghalaya is well connected to many of its neighbouring states through highways. Even the highways that run through its region and connect it with other states are well maintained. Therefore if you are planning to visit Meghalaya by road then you are going to enjoy it a lot because generally road journeys are hectic and troublesome but in case of visiting Meghalaya it is not so, as it is quite a cosy and picturesque journey.

By Train: The nearest railway station to Meghalaya is Guwahati Railway Station. If you are coming by train then you have to arrive at Guwahati Railway Station because being a mountainous region Meghalaya does not have its own railway station. Therefore, after reaching Guwahati you have to hire a cab to Meghalaya.

By Air: If you want to fly to Meghalaya then you can reach Umroi Airport within the state which is about 30 km from Shillong. Many tourists arrive first at Guwahati Airport (Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi Airport) which is in Guwahati, 128kms from Shillong, then head their journey towards Meghalaya.
