How to Reach Majuli
By Road: Majuli is a river island with no road access to major towns or cities. As a result, passengers cannot be transported to little island by bus or taxi. Jorhat is accessible by road. From Guwahati to Jorhat, travelers must take a 7-hour bus voyage. Visitors can also take a private taxi to Jorhat. From here, they’ll have to rely on ferries to go to Majuli.
By Train: Majuli has no railway stations. Trains from Guwahati to Jorhat, the nearest rail station, are required for travelers to reach Majuli. Buses and cabs can carry travelers from Jorhat to Neemati Ghat, where they can board boats to Majuli.
By Air: Jorhat Airport, commonly known as Rowriah Airport, serves Guwahati and other eastern and northeastern states. Neemati Ghat is around 14 kilometers from Jorhat and is accessible by bus or taxi. Visitors can reach Majuli by boat from Neemati Ghat. Two boat trips from Neemati Ghat to Majuli are made every day. The time is 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.
