Places to visit during Kaziranga Trekking Tour

Agnigarh

Agnigarh Hill is a mound of land on the Brahmaputra River’s bank in the Assamese district of Tezpur. There is a well-known fabled romance associated with the place. Hindu mythology states that Usha, the asura king Banasura’s daughter, and Aniruddha, Lord Krishna’s grandson, fell in love with one another. Banasura disagreed with the union, so he sequestered his daughter Usha in this spot while incarcerating Aniruddha elsewhere. Because it was believed that this area had a fire-based barrier that only Banasura could overcome, it was known as Agnigarh, or the fort of fire.

Bamuni Hills

The northeastern Indian state of Assam is home to several historical artefacts that serve as relics of the area’s storied history. These spectacular remains may be located in the Sonitpur region’s Bamuni highlands, which are popular with tourists. On the right bank of the mighty Brahmaputra, a little hill known as Bamuni is home to a number of magnificent statues and stone carvings from earlier times. In the Golaghat neighbourhood, Dr. Robin Banerjee established this children’s museum, which is housed in his residence. He was raised in Murshidabad and obtained his medical degree from the UK in 1937 before enlisting in the British army. He afterwards moved to Assam and started working for a Scottish doctor. He gained a lot of knowledge about the traditions and culture that were followed in the state at the time. The doctor decided to move to Assam and started working at the Dhansiri Medical Association near Kaziranga after becoming attracted to the state’s flora and fauna.

Garampani

The Golaghat district in Assam is home to a little town by the name of Garampani. One of Assam’s oldest sanctuaries, the Garampani Wildlife Sanctuary, is one of its most well-known attractions. The sanctuary is not located in the Golaghat district. It is 25 kilometres away in the Karbi Anglong region. 117 metres above sea level is Garampani. How to Reach Kaziranga

By Road: By bus, Kaziranga is easily accessible. Guwahati is around 227 miles distant and bus tickets there cost Rs 500. Tickets to Jorhat, which is located 96 kilometers away, cost about Rs 70. You can find approximately four zones in kaziranga namely Kohara/central Zone, Western/Bagori Zone, Eastern/Agaratoli Zone and Burapahar Zone.

Fastest way to reach Kaziranga is through a flight and the nearest airport to this biodiversity park is Jorhat airport which is at a distance of 112 km. From this airport you can easily get cab service to Kazirnga. However there is a chance you may not get a straight flight to Jorhat airport from your hometown. So in that type of situation you can catch a flight to Guwahati International Airport as it is connected to many major cities.

The Central/Kohara zone is referred to as the most preferred zone because the probability of seeing a tiger, leopard, or clouded leopard is high here. And following this western/Bagori Zone is the second most preferred zone of Kaziranga due to the presence of heaviest creatures like one-horned rhinoceros, Asaian elephants, wild buffalos and lots more.

Yes, since it is a wildlife sanctuary you must wear clothes that can match with the inner environment of kaziranga like dark green, algae colour etc. Avoid clothes that have a high focal length like red, yellow etc.
