It serves ⅔ of the total [population of one-horned Rhinoceros and in the year 1940 it was announced as the sanctuary. This beautiful sanctuary is popular because of its one-horned rhinos but it is also home to many other species which are at the risk of extension some of them are leopards, barasingha, royal bengal tiger, barking deer, himalayan griffon etc. You can explore this adrenaline boosting sanctuary in two different ways; elephant safari and jeep safari. One of the best ways to explore this wildlife sanctuary is travelling with a gentle giant, which will allow you to go deep inside the jungle and witness its beast creatures like tigers, rhinos, leopards etc. The best time to do this activity is during early hours of the morning because at this time the temperature is quite low and the division of animals is more or less the same in each region. Even being the gentle giants, elephants make your excursion much safer compared to any other mode of exploring. If you are planning to visit and explore Kaziranga then it is recommended that you should miss this particular site that is situated alongside the karbi Anglong.
