Kaziranga is crowned as the home of the largest population of one-horned rhinoceros, it serves nearly ⅔ of its total population in the world. The suitable time to visit and explore this live tropical forest is winter because during winter the state of atmosphere remains completely suitable for exploring due to the cool breezes that are bowling through the himalayan regions towards the region of kaziranga. The required temperature in Kaziranga during winter remains between 20-8 degree celsius. This is the only time when visitors can explore and witness its prime animals perfectly due to its almost equal division of animals in every zone. Kaziranga remains open from the starting of November till the end of April every year and it remains closed from May to October because within this period of time kaziranga receives a high rainfall and most of its area gets flooded with rain water. After the rainy season gets covered in the month of November, the required temperature of the park happens to be very enjoyable as the monsoon season has harvested its green vegetation and decorated it with lush green cover. Winter season in Kaziranga starts from December and lasts till the end of February. During this time period you will experience a cold temperature but not so chilly. If you are sensitive to cold weather then you must add warm and woolen clothes to your packing list.

How to Reach Kaziranga
By Road: Roads journey to Kaziranga is quite comfortable as the highways joining Kaziranga with major cities of Assam are well-maintained. If you are travelling by road then the main entrance gate of this national park can be found in a small metropolis town called Kohara. Travelling through the highways of Assam are generally comfortable and enjoyable because it provides an excellent medium for four wheelers.
By Train: Furkating railway station is the only short distance railway stop to Kaziranga which is at a separation of 75 km from Kaziranga. This railway stop is well-connected to many big cities of India like Kolkata, New Delhi. If you are not getting a direct train to Furkating from your present city then you can visit Guwahati railway station which is 193 km away from Kaziranga.
By Air: If you are flying to Kaziranga National Park then the closest airport you can observe near your desired destination is Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport which is at a distance of 192 km from Kaziranga. You can book a cab according to your need and have a comfortable ride to Kaziranga as the highway that connects these two spots are well-maintained.

Coldest months of the year are supposed to be the best time to visit this enchanting Park for an excursion because during winter the intensity of heat is completely suitable for exploring. Even in the winter season the divisions of animals are more or less equal in every zone and hence your excursion will remain enjoyable from the starting till the end of your excursion.
From the 1st of May till the 31st of October Kaziranga remains closed because of monsoon season. During monsoon season the required water level of Brahmaputra
Increases and floods the park. Therefore, avoid visiting kaziranga within this period of time.
There are only two types of safari available inside the Kaziranga; jeep safari and elephant safari. For Indian travellers a jeep safari will cost around 4,000 Rs whereas foreign tourists have to pay around 7,500 Rs.
For elephant safari Indian travellers have to pay Rs 1,500 while foreign tourists have to pay Rs3,200.
Note: in one jeep a maximum 5 persons are allowed.
You are required only two days, one day for jeep safari and one day for elephant safari. At the end of your elephant safari you will be visiting some local tea gardens to witness the best part of Assam.
Both the safris are cosy and good for excursion inside the Kaziranga National Park. But elephant safari provides you a superb opportunity to witness some of the beast creatures like Rhino, wild buffalos, tigers etc very closely.
Kaziranga has the largest population of one-horned rhinoceros. It serves nearly 66% of its total population in the world. Apart from rhinoceros it also has some rare and endangered species like bengal tigers, Indian leopards, clouded leopards, capped langurs, chinese pangolins etc which attracts tourists not only from India but also from foriegn countries.
From Guwahati one has to cover a distance of 193 kilometres to reach Kaziranga National Park.
You can’t stay inside the National Park as there are no accommodation facilities available inside the Kaziranga. But near Kohara and Bagori zone some accommodations and camps are built which provides the visitors of Kaziranga a cosy stay.
There are approximately 4 range available to explore in Kaziranga namely the Central zone (Kohara), western zone (Bagaori), Eastern Zone (Agaratoli) and Burapahar zone.
Central and western zones are referred to as the best zones of Kaziranga. Because these required zones help its visitors to witness the beast creatures of kaziranga Like rhino, tiger, asian elephant, wild buffalos and many more.
