Places to visit during Kaziranga Camping Tour

Agnigarh

Agnigarh Hill is a land mound on the banks of the Brahmaputra River in the Assamese district of Tezpur. The location is linked with a well-known mythical romance. According to Hindu legend, Usha, the daughter of the asura king Banasura, and Aniruddha, Lord Krishna’s grandson, fell in love. Banasura objected to the union, so he imprisoned his daughter Usha here while incarcerating Aniruddha elsewhere. This place was known as Agnigarh, or the fort of fire since it was said to have a fire-based barrier that only Banasura could breach.

Bamuni Hills

Assam, a state in northeastern India, is home to a number of historical artifacts that serve as reminders of the region’s glorious history. These spectacular remains can be seen in the Bamuni highlands of Sonitpur, which are popular with travelers. A little hill known as Bamuni on the right bank of the mighty Brahmaputra is home to a variety of ancient monuments and stone carvings. Aniruddha, Lord Krishna’s nephew, was imprisoned here according to Hindu folklore after falling in love with Banasura’s daughter and being rejected by Banasura. The ruins of the Bamuni highlands are easily accessible from Tezpur, Sonitpur’s district headquarters.

Guwahati

Aside from that, the reserve is home to a variety of wild species, including Azagar (a kind of snake), Great Snakes, Gui, Hudu, Bonrow, Moluwabandar, and Lazukibandar.

Uncle Robin’s Children Museum

Uncle Robin’s Children’s Museum, a renowned tourist attraction in Golaghat, is located on a major highway. Dr. Robin Banerjee developed this children’s museum in his apartment in the Golaghat neighborhood. He was reared in Murshidabad and earned his medical degree in the United Kingdom before joining the British army in 1937. He afterward relocated to Assam and began working for a Scottish doctor. He learned a lot about the customs and culture that were practiced in the state at the time. After falling in love with the state’s beauty and fauna, the doctor relocated to Assam and began working at the Dhansiri Medical Association near Kaziranga.

Garampani

Garampani, a small town in Assam’s Golaghat district, is located there. The Garampani Wildlife Sanctuary, one of Assam’s oldest sanctuaries, is one of the state’s most well-known attractions. The sanctuary is not in the district of Golaghat. It is located in the Karbi Anglong area, about 25 kilometers distant. Garampani is located 117 meters above sea level. Another popular location in the area is Kaziranga National Park, which is located close by. It is well-known among visitors due to its proximity to the Kaziranga National Park and the Garampani Wildlife Sanctuary. Hot springs and waterfalls can be found at the Garampani Wildlife Sanctuary, and both are spectacular. You might also be able to see some unusual birds here. Kakochang Waterfalls

The Kakochang Waterfalls must be seen; it is a must-see location. Weather in Kaziranga

Summer:Summer season in Kaziranga National Park starts in March and lasts till May and even this period of time is considered an unpleasant time to visit Kaziranga. As the temperature ranges between 37- 27 degree Celsius which is referred to as a completely dry and humid climate. This time in Kaziranga is also uniform as the off-season and hence you can get hotels and resorts at discounted prices.

Monsoon:During monsoon season Kaziranga remains completely closed, from the 1st of May till the 31st of October it remains closed because of flood water as it is situated next to the Brahmaputra. Therefore, travelers are advised not to visit Kaziranga during the monsoon months and in between closing periods.

Winter:From the start of November till the end of February Kaziranga experiences the winter season, this is also considered the finest time to plan an excursion to a wildlife sanctuary. During this time the temperature inside Kaziranga National Park ranges from 17-25 degree Celsius which is neither too hot nor too cold. During this time only thousands of migratory birds fly to Kaziranga which enhances the beauty of the wildlife sanctuary. If you are sensitive to cold then you must take some warm clothes with you before visiting Kaziranga because within the winter months fog and misty clouds cover the land of Kaziranga which sometimes decreases the temperature.

How to Reach Kaziranga

By Road: Kaziranga is easily accessible by bus. Guwahati is approximately 227 miles away, and bus tickets there cost Rs 500. Tickets to Jorhat, which is 96 kilometers distant, cost around Rs 70. Naugaon, Dibrugarh, and Tezpur tickets cost Rs 50 each. Ticket prices differ depending on whether the bus is privately owned or run by the government. The airport in Guwahati serves as a hub for major airlines such as Air Asia, Air India, GoAir, IndiGo, Jet Airways, and Spice Jet. Jeep Safari and Elephant Safari are only two types of safaris that a Traveller can observe inside the Kaziranga National Park.

If you are looking for a cosy safari then Jeep safari is good but if you want to witness beasts’ animals like tigers, wild buffalos, Asian elephants from a short distance then elephant safari is best. Because elephants are the gentle giants of the jungle and other animals do not try to mash with these giants due to their size and strength.

Central Zone (Kohara), Eastern Zone (Agaratoli), Western Zone (Bagori) and Burapahar Zone are the four zone which a traveller of Kaziranga can observe inside it.

No, Kaziranga is an eco-friendly national park so plastic is completely banned inside it. Therefore, carrying thermal bottles and plastic bags inside Kaziranga is not allowed at any cost. No, it is a wildlife sanctuary so you will not be allowed to stay inside the park because it is quite dangerous. But if you want to observe the night’s peace of a jungle then near Kohara and Bagori zone some hotels and resorts are built where you can have a cosy stay.

10. Is Kaziranga safe for travellers’ excursions?

Yes, every year many travellers used to travel and explore the sanctuary and in the last many years there has been no such events that came to an existence that can terrify its travellers. To be safe inside this national park you have to do only one thing and that is listen and follow the instructions that your guide and mahout provides you. And without the approval of your guide and mahout don’t get down from your safari.
