Places to visit during Kaziranga Adventure Tour

Agnigarh

Agnigarh hill is a hilltop on the bank of the River Brahmaputra in the Tezpur district of Assam. The location has a fabled romance attached to it that is well recognized. According to Hindu legend, Usha, the daughter of the asura king Banasura, and Aniruddha, the grandson of Lord Krishna, fell in love with one another. However, Banasura disapproved of the union and confined his daughter Usha in isolation in this location while imprisoning Aniruddha in a different location. It was known as Agnigarh or the fort of fire since it was thought that this location possessed a fire-based barrier that only Banasura could pass.

Bamuni Hills

There are many historical artifacts in the Assam state of northeast India that serve as reminders of the region’s illustrious history. Such magnificent remains may be seen in the Bamuni highlands of the Sonitpur area, which draw many tourists there. The little hill known as Bamuni, which is located on the right bank of the powerful Brahmaputra, is home to a variety of breathtaking stone sculptures and statues from earlier times. According to Hindu legend, Aniruddha, the nephew of Lord Krishna, fell in love with Banasura’s daughter and was imprisoned here because Banasura disapproved of the union.

Guwahati

Guwahati, the main city in the state of Assam, is renowned for serving as the entryway to North-East India. This makes it the most popular staging place for travel to other locations in the region. It is also the largest metropolis in the whole North-Eastern region of India. This city, historically known as Pragjyotishpura, is surrounded by the Shillong Plateau and the Brahmaputra River on two sides. The Assamese terms “Guwa” (for areca nut) and “Haat” (for market) were combined to create the name Guwahati.

Deopahar Ruins

Deopahar, which lies in Assam’s Golaghat district, is well-known for its ancient ruins. People go vast distances to visit the historic structures and ruins, which are amazing sights. This location is near both the Kaziranga National Park and the Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL). This area was supposedly a component of the ancient Assamese kingdom Jarasanda. The Uncle Robin’s Children Museum is a well-known tourist destination in Golaghat town and is situated on the major route. This children’s museum was founded by Dr. Robin Banerjee in the Golaghat neighborhood, and it is located inside his home. He was raised in Murshidabad and enlisted in the British army in 1937 after earning his medical degree from the United Kingdom. Later, he relocated to Assam and began working for a Scottish physician. He learned a lot about the customs and culture that were practiced in the state at this period.

Garampani

A small town in Assam named Garampani is situated in the Golaghat district. It is well-known for the Garampani Wildlife Sanctuary, one of Assam’s oldest sanctuaries. Golaghat district is not where the sanctuary is situated. It is located in the Karbi Anglong area, 25 kilometers distant. Garampani is 117 meters above sea level. Another popular site in the area is the Kaziranga National Park, which is close. Hot springs and waterfalls may be found at Garampani Wildlife Sanctuary, and they are both stunning. Here, you could also be able to see some unusual birds. The Garampani Wildlife Sanctuary is surrounded by the Nambor Sanctuary, which has 51 unique orchid species.

Kakochang Waterfalls

One of the most well-known waterfalls in Assam is Kakochang Waterfalls, which are situated at an elevation of 116 meters. It is positioned in the uncharted forests of Bokakhat and is also known as Kakojan. This location is where the medieval Numaligarh was located. Weather in Kaziranga

The required national park remains open for only 6 months from the starting of November till the end of April. Because kaziranga is situated next to river Brahmaputra and it floods the park. This park serves nearly 66 percent of the total inhabitat of one horned rhinoceros in the world. If you want to witness the beast creatures of kaziranga like rhino, tiger, Asian elephants, etc then you must visit it during the month of March or April. During this time the heat intensity in day time is quite warm but it decreases when the sun starts setting. Since kaziranga remains open from November to April the maximum and minimum heat intensity you can find during this period of time is 35-7 degree celsius. Winter season that starts from November and lasts till the end of January is referred to as the superb time to visit this extraordinary Sanctuary of India. During this period of time due to less heat intensity you can observe the supreme animals of kaziranga more or less the same in all its zones. In the winter season the maximum temperature in Kaziranga, Guwahati reaches upto 25 degree celsius whereas its minimum temperature ranges around 8-6 degree celsius. Many migratory birds can be sighted during the coldest months of the year due to this suitable weather condition.

By Road: If you are preparing for a road trip to Kaziranga then you are simply going to enjoy your adventure trip a lot as it is connected to many major cities with well maintained highways. Even the main gate for entering this national park is located on National highway 37 (NH 37).

By Train: Furkating Railway Station is the closest railway station to Kaziranga National Park which is situated at a distance of 75 km. This required railway station is well connected to Guwahati Railway Station and Jorhat railway station. Since Kaziranga is referred to as the pollution free National Park therefore, carrying thermal bottles and eatable items inside the national park is banned. If anyone is found carrying any of these items then he/she has to pay a fine of Rs 5,000/-.

10. Is there anything that we have to keep in mind before visiting Kaziranga?

Since it is a wildlife sanctuary, try to wear clothes that can match with the inner environment of kaziranga like dark green. Do not try to wear clothes that have a high focal length like red.
Secondly, don’t try to feed anything to any animal when you are inside the Kaziranga National Park.
