Places to visit during Jowai Adventure Tour

Tyrshi Falls

The nearby Tyrshi Falls are just as stunning as the Elephant Falls in Shillong. The distance from Jowai to this cascade is around 5 kilometers. An area of lush paddy fields that opens out to the Tyrshi Falls rushing down to the Pynthor (paddy fields) below is connected by a charming arch bridge. Your descent to the bottom of the falls, which flow down like milk over a vertical drop, is made easier by a meandering trail affording a stunning and expansive perspective of the Pynthor Nein.

Krang-Suri Falls

The Amlarem Civil Subdivision of Jowai is where the Krang Suri Falls are situated. Of the several waterfalls in the vicinity, the Krang Suri waterfall is the most beautiful and artistically pleasing. Because of the dense flora and substantial stones in the area, it is a setting that inspires poetic thoughts. In a depression that drops from a low height, it is the ideal area to cool off.

Nartiang Village

One of the greatest sites to see well-preserved artifacts from this magnificent era is in Nartiang, a group of huge monoliths that were built as memorials for the previous monarchs may be found in the garden of monoliths. You may explore and take in the bizarre surroundings along a short, twisting route that weaves among and around the towering monoliths. This heritage location offers good views of the town as well.

Umlawan Caves

The Umlawan Caverns, the deepest and biggest caves on the subcontinent, are a source of pride for Meghalaya. The Kot Sati and Umskor Caves are related to this cave system. The appearance of these caverns is enhanced by the many stalagmites and stalactites. The caverns are 21 km long and 100 m deep.

Jarain Pitcher Plant Lake

Boat rides on this lake are a lot of fun since they are surrounded by interesting carnivorous pitcher plants. The plants, which cover 50,000 square meters, prove to be an unusual sight for everyone. In the center of the lake is a fountain that resembles a pitcher plant. This lovely lake is peacefully surrounded by a greenhouse-interpretation center, pitcher plant garden, and gravel walks and bridges. Both residents and tourists like visiting this location.

Syntu Ksair

The direct translation of Syntu Ksiar in Jaintia is “the golden bloom.” Freedom warrior Kiang Nangbah started the fight for independence against the British from this location. It is located along the Myntdu River’s bank. Syntu Ksiar is now a very well-liked picnic location for the residents. Almost frequently, you’d see both kids and adults here fishing and swimming in the river. A stunning wire suspension bridge has also been constructed to cross the river. A water collecting system has also been installed across this river.

Thadlaskein Lake

This is a stunning lake of anthropological significance that is situated in Mukhla, close to the highway and about 20 kilometers from the district center of Jowai. The lake is ethereally blue and mirrors the sky. The purity is reflected in the lake, unharmed and unaffected by human power. Purely natural in both sound and appearance, it is today a nice picnic area. Just across the street is a modest hotel run by Meghalaya Tourism that has spotless rooms and helpful staff.

Summer:Summer season in Jowai is very pleasant, and it provides a moderate warm weather condition for its visitors. Summer season in Jowai is far better than any other places in the northeastern region of India. Because it is situated at a great altitude it supplies an average temperature all round the year. The required temperature of Jowai during the summer season ranges between 22-30 degree celsius in the day-time.
