Package Itinerary Details:-

  • Day – 1 : Guwahati Arrival:
    Unseen Meghalaya Tour begins with your arrival at the Guwahati Airport or the Railway Station. Our representative/driver who will be leading you on this tour will meet and welcome you to our clean and well maintained private vehicle. You will then drive to Shillong, the Capital City of Meghalaya. En route, stop by the famous Umiam Lake which will be the first destination of this tour. Here, you can enjoy the beautiful and picturesque view of the lake which will relish your eyes and then continue your journey to Shillong. Also referred to as Scotland of the East and Abode of the Clouds, Shillong is one of the cleanest cities in the country. On arrival at Shillong, check in to the hotel and ease up. Afterwards visit the Elephant falls which is a three-step waterfall. Then move to Shillong peak to view the beautiful city and an amazing sunset. Later return to the hotel in Shillong for an overnight stay.
  • Day – 2 : Grand Canyons of Laitlum and Krangsuri Waterfalls:
    As a part of your Unseen Meghalaya Tour Package’s itinerary, after a delicious breakfast, pickup from your hotel and head towards the Grand Canyons of Laitlum, a delighting place which will mesmerize you. Enjoy the breathtaking view of the canyon, its steep winding stairways that bend their way deep downhill leading to a small village. Laitlum is not crowded like any other tourist destinations. It is a beautiful and unique valley with a pleasant hilly weather. Spend your time in the nature and rejuvenate yourself. Then drive to Krangsuri Waterfall which is located in Jaintia hills and around 2.5 hours away from Shillong. Krangsuri is one of the best waterfall in the country. A small trek of about 10 to 15 minutes to the waterfall where you can see the beauty of it. The wonderful falls and turquoise water is indeed a sight to behold. Once you reach the waterfall, you have a viewpoint for amazing social media worthy photos. There are changing rooms and life jackets available in case you want to take a dip into the water under the falls. Also there are tents for camping (at your own cost) in case you feel the need to sleep under the stars overnight. Otherwise drive back to your hotel in Shillong for an overnight stay.
  • Day – 3 : Mawlynnong – The cleanest village in Asia; Dawki:
    Today after breakfast, we will be heading towards the cleanest village in Asia. On arrival at Mawlynnong you can take a tour of the village and see the Living Root Bridge which is made from roots of hundred years old living trees. Also see the balancing rock and have a leisure time in the village. Then move to Dawki and have a thrilling experience of riding in wooden boats on the Umngot river where the water is crystal clear and turquoise in colour. Spend some quality time at the Indo-Bangladesh border and then drive to Cherrapunji. Upon arrival, check into the hotel in Cherrapunji. Rest at the hotel for the night in Cherrapunji.
  • Day – 4 : A Trek to the Double Decker Living Root Bridges in Nongriat:
    Today we will go on a guided trek to the Double Decker Root Bridge. After an early breakfast, we will drive to Tyrna village, which is starting point of the trek and the last stopping place for vehicles. A trek of over 3000+ steps, through sacred groves of trees and across narrow suspended bridges over rivers is a steep flight of steps which is narrow at certain junctions. The path passes by a number of houses with well-maintained bush fences. As the stairs conclude, the route is followed by three suspension bridges over rivers and a forest trail that succeeds it. Then the occasional ascents and descents on the forest trail continue until reaching the gates of Nongriat. The scenery of the place is beyond description. Your will get amazed of walking over the roots which is quite scary at the beginning but once you start, it will end with great enthusiasm. The pleasant sound of waterfall and the picturesque forest all around will provide you an altogether different experience with the mesmerizing feeling. Here the double-decker living root bridges overlook a series of naturally forming swimming pools. Soak in the natural pools below the bridge and relish the beautiful sight wondering the making of the double decker root bridges. After spending some time at the bridge, move further ahead to the rainbow falls. On finally reaching the falls, one can feel the mist from the falls as they come close to it and as the name goes by one can witness the rainbow on the falls if the weather’s good. Then trek back to Tyrna and drive to the hotel in Cherrapunji. Spend the evening in peace to get rid from tiredness. Overnight stay at the hotel in Cherrapunji.
  • Day – 5 : Observe the different waterfalls in and around Cherrapunji:
    After an appetizing breakfast, we will begin sightseeing at some of the major attractions in Cherrapunji which comprises of Nohkalikai falls, Seven Sisters falls, Mawsmai falls, and also enjoy some cave exploration at the Mawsmai cave. Later we will move towards the outskirts of Cherrapunji where we will come across a couple of other waterfalls. Dainthlen Falls which is approximately 10kms from Cherrapunji has a legendary tale that says the people of the land killed a big snake called ‘Thlen’ that lived in the cave nearby. The rock carvings seen here of the snake are said to represent the symbols of evil and greed. As it is a soft waterfall, you may not hear the roaring sounds of water falling but still the atmosphere is electrifying and the breathtaking views are a treat to your eyes. Then, move to Wei Sawdong Falls which is 1 km away from Dainthlen falls. To reach the falls, you need to hike through a steep path which will take about 15-20 minutes. As you arrive at the three-step waterfalls, you will experience nature at its best and the beauty is beyond expression. After spending some valuable time here, drive to Shillong and as your day comes to an end, stay overnight at the hotel in Shillong.
  • Day – 6 : Seek Adventure at Mawsynram:
    Mawsynram in Meghalaya is the wettest place around the globe. Today post breakfast, we will drive to Mawsynram which is about 61 kms away from Shillong. Visit the Sacred Grove in Mawphlang, observe the naturally formed Shiva Linga at Mawjymbuin Cave also known as Mawsynram cave and bathe in the Hotwater Spring at Jakrem. Afterwards drive back to Shillong for an overnight stay at the hotel.
  • Day – 7 : Shillong Sightseeing:
    After an appetizing breakfast begin Shillong City Sightseeing. Drive to Don Bosco Museum where you will learn about the indigenous cultures of North eastern states. As you move within the museum, get a glimpse of the artifacts, clothing and tools used by the local tribes of the north-eastern states. Don’t forget to go up onto the Skywalk for a mesmerizing view of Shillong city. This city also includes other amazing tourist spots like the Ward’s Lake which is popular for short garden walks and boating. Golflinks, one of the largest Golf courses in Asia with an 18 hole Golf Course is outlined amid thick pine groves and rhododendron trees. Lady Hydari Park is a beautiful park set up with stretches of roses and other beautiful flowers. The park also boasts a Mini zoo which has about 70 birds, 135 mammals and reptiles. The Botanical Garden presents exotic plants and rare collection of orchids. St. Mary’s Cathedral is the cathedral of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Shillong which covers the districts of East Khasi Hills and Ri-Bhoi. After visiting these places, return to the hotel and rest for the night. Overnight stay at Shillong.
  • Day – 8 : End of Unseen Meghalaya Tour Package:
    After breakfast, drive to Guwahati. Enroute stop at Nongpoh for refreshments. Later on reaching Guwahati, stop at your desired dropping points either Airport or the Railway station for your journey back home. Our team will strive to make your trip wonderful and a memorable one.
