Detailed Itinerary for “Everest Base Camp Trek, 2018”

Day 1: You reach Kathmandu, Nepal.When you reach Kathmandu on the first day you will be received by the representative who will take you to the hotel. This day will specially be of preparing and briefing about the trek. You will be explained the important things about the trek. You can visit Thamel Street in Kathmandu if there are some trekking gears to be purchased or to be taken on rent. You can chill out in the evening and prepare yourself mentally and physically for the next day.

Day 2: Fly over to Lukla from Kathmandu, Trekking for Phakding.Starting your trekking, you will take your flight to Lukla in a small plane. It will be a pleasant experience to enjoy the scenic Himalayan mountains      en-route. You will be entering the inner and higher Himalayas. Duration of the flight will be about 35 minutes. On reaching Lukla the trek guide will receive you. Thereafter you will start your trekking and trek towards Phakding which is at an altitude of about 2652m. During the trek you will pass over Nepali Villages and beautiful mountains. An easy trek for 2.5 hours. Your nightstay will be arranged at the hotel.

Day 3: Trekking from Phakding to Namche BazaarThis will be your third day, you will trek for Namche Bazaar. It will be a moderate trekking for about 10-12kms which will take around 5 to 6 hours. During the trek you will be able to view the beautiful mountain ranges of the Himalayas and pass through the forests of the region. Namche is at the height of 3440m. Your rest for the night will be arranged at the hotel.

Day 4: Altitude Acclimatization at Namche.The fourth day will be for you to rest and adapt with the weather of the higher Himalayas so that you can acclimatize yourself for higher altitudes. You may explore Namche by doing some short trek in the area where you will experience the Himalayan climate. You can visit the Sherpa Culture Museum  and you can also trek to Sagarmatha National Park, which is named after Mountain Everest, from where you can see the breathtaking snow capped Himalayan Mountain Ranges. In addition you can go to the local Bazaar and the Monastery. Mount Everest can be clearly viewed from the viewpoint of Namche Bazaar.

Day 5: Namche to Tengboche

Today will be your fifth day and you will trek about 10kms, for about 5-6 hours, to reach Tengboche. It is a village at the height of 3860m. During the trek you may have the chance to see different species of animals and bird of Himalaya like the Himalayan Thar or the Himalayan Monal, national bird of Nepal. You can also visit the famous Tengboche Monastery.

Day 6: Tengboche to Dingboche

The trekking will be through a rich forest and you will get some pleasant views of Mount Ama Dablam, Mt. Everest, Nuptse and Lhotse. You will cross the Imja river and also pass through the beautiful valley of Imja.. You will pass through Lobuche River and then climb up to Dingboche. You can see the remote Himalayan village life of Sherpas in Dingboche which is at the height of about 4360m. The trek will be about 11 kms, 6 to 7 hours after which you will rest for the night at Dingboche.

Day 7: Acclimatization day at Dingboche (4360m)

This will be your seventh day of the trek and the second day of acclimatization. This is necessary to adopt your body to the high altitude weather. You can have a short trek to Nagarjun Hills to enjoy the view of peaks and mountain ranges of the Himalayas specially of Mount Lhotse and Mount Makalu. You can spend your time with the locals.

Day 8: Dingboche to Lobuche On the Eight day you will trek for 11-12kms, for about 6-7 hours, to reach Lobuche which is at the height of 4,900m approx and on the way you will have to climb to Dughla. En route you will be able to get the wonderful view of Mount Nuptse, Khumbu Glacier and beautiful rivers and streams. Although the trekking time seems long but you will get resting and relaxing time in some tea houses on the way. You will have rest for the night in Lobuche.

Day 9: Lobuche-Gorakshep-Everest Base Camp-Go (5364m) and come back to Gorakshep.This will be your ninth day and it will be very a thrilling experience for you as today you will face the World’s Highest Mountain, The Mount Everest. It will be a super exciting moment. The trek will be for 15kms, about 5-7 hrs, you will pass by the glaciers on the way and finally  after a long trek you will be see the gigantic Everest up-close. After achieving your goal you will return to rest for the night at Gorakshep.

Day 10: Gorakshep-Kala Patthar-Lobuche Today you will trek to Kala Patthar which is above Gorakshep and popular region for the trekkers. You will trek for 11 kms, about 5 to 7 hours. The trek will be challenging but this is the place from where the view of the Mount Everest is spectacular and the peak is clearly visible.  Achieving the goal you will be trekking towards Lobuche which is at a height of about 4940m. You can even trek to Pheriche, a village above the Tsola River, is a famous place for trekkers and climbers

Day 11: Lobuche (4940m) to Tengboche (3860m) Finally after achieving your goal, the eleventh day trekking will be about 6 to 7 hours. You will be passing through the amazing Himalayan ranges during the entire trek. The trek will be easy and you will descend in the Himalayas and enjoying the adventure and the scenic beauty.

Day 12: Trek to Monjo from Tengboche This trek will take about 7 hours. You will relax and rest for the night in Monjo.

Day 13: From Monjo towards Lukla It’s the thirteenth day and you are trekking back to Lukla. Passing through different small villages and hills you will reach Lukla where you will rest for the night.

Day 14: Flight from Lukla to Kathmandu Now you are leaving the Himalayan town of Lukla and you will board the flight to Kathmandu. You can enjoy the views of the Himalayan ranges throughout the 35 minutes flying time. Today your halt will be arranged in Kathmandu.

Day 15: Final Day Today your expedition has been completed and you are departing taking with you all the breathtaking and adventurous memories of Mount Everest. Your travel representative will take you to the Airport.
